pasadena firearms co. 308

Hey fellas, My Dad has a 308 bolt action marked with pasadena firearms company inc on the barrel, 4298 on the stock, and 904 on the bolt, it as a safety on the top of the bolt, an old walnut bishop stock, and a universal standard 10x40 scope.

I have googled pasadena arms and got nothing. What can you guys tell me about this gun and it's equiptment?

    I believe the Pasadena Firearms Co. was predecessor to the Golden State Arms Co, of Pasadena CA. It would date your rifle from the early to mid 50's time frame, before the Golden State Arms name came into use. Probably based on a Mauser military action that has been sporterized. This was years before legal liability became a big factor in the gun business, i.e. best not be firing any red line hand loads in it unless you have a competent gunsmith check the headspace with go and no go gauges.
