Feedback on Cynergy

Im looking at a Syn 30" Ajustable Browning Cynergy Sporting 12 gauge. My 14 yr old son is joining a shooting team. Seems to fit him. Reliable? Performs? First o/u sporting gun purchase. Good first comp gun? All we have ever done is hunt. Is it good for skeet and trap? Is there other brands better? My sis works for Browning, so I gotta be a little loyal but...
