I've never seen one removed from a receiver, but a gunsmith could tell you if its possible. Numrich (e-gunparts.com) does not list it as a separate part. If the tube is just dented, there is a tool I know as a 'dent expander' for shotgun barrels that may work for the tube as well. It is inserted in the barrel and expanded into the dent. The dent is then gradually hammered out from the outside, expanding the mandrel as you smooth out the dent.

"Can I purchase a new magazine tube, and how would I go about removing the old one?"..........this is considered a factory repair. the original tube is silver soldered (brased) to the receiver. like ms102 said it can be repaired (see your gunsmith).

Remington includes in their 870 Armorer's Tool Sets a mag tube dent remover, which is a steel bar you beat into the tube. It's a common problem as the tubes are fairly thin, with the tool it's an easy fix. You don't remove the tube at all. If you have any friends in a local PD they may have one or know of one that does. Brownells has them for about 80.00.
