When was it made APPROX>
OK this is what I have, found at an estate sale, trying to find an approx date of manufacture. Wish I could include a photo but I'm not that good at this. Its metal (poss.pewter that has been silver plated) gun oiler. Its approx 1 1/2" tall about 1 1/2 in dia. with a screw on top that has a gasket make of poss cork, course threads. Then a probe is screwed on top that can be removed and has a tang that shaped like a knife blade. on top of the large lid which has been engraved, is the words W.W.Greener Ltd London Birmingham. It is quite heavy and in perfect shape. I know Greener is a maker of dbl bbl shotguns from England. So what do you think. Also got a brass container that is engraved Hookers shotgun scrubber. made by Hooker mfg. co. Hartford Conn, Its the size of a 12 gauge wire brush but is to short for todays brushes. The bottom is fixed and the top twists off any one heard or seen one of thgese before?? also picked up 4 hardwood and brass gun cleaning rods comes apart in 3 sections the last one is mad of Iron wood and about 3" longer than the other 4 all look used and well kept.any feed back would be nice.
