Maybe not a 28ga x 3", but how about a 28ga x 3 1/4"? 12ga 2 3/4" on the far right for compairison.

I think Parker was the first to really promote the 28 ga. and I think all their guns were chambered for the 3in. round. 0 -

To the best of my knowledge, the only widely available 28 gauge load that was commercially loaded is the 2 3/4 inch. Not so sure that in the early years there was a 2 1/2 incher though.

I have a box of remington 28 ga 2 7/8nch skeet loads in paper hulls fron a long time ago myself. But i have never seen a 3 incher for 28 ga. 0 -
I concur with 20gabob. My experience as a trap boy around skeet ranges dating from about 1946/47 included cleaning up and picking up empties. The 28 gauge hulls of those days were 2-7/8 inches long. I don't know when it changed for sure.
