Blaser
I have been looking at a Blaser rifle,what is the opinion of this rifle? Thanks, I have several model 70 Winchesters,why would I buy a Blaser?

I've only seen/shot one. It belongs to a German friend who has quite a nice gun collection (he has individual guns that cost more than my car). I think he imported his directly from Germany (rather than going through an American dealer).
They're quite nice; they use a straight bolt pull design which is pretty slick. If I remember right the actions are interchangeable; so you can drop a new barrel/caliber in pretty easily. Trigger was quite good.
Supposedly they're highly accurate, though I didn't fire enough shots from this particular .300 win mag to actually group it (nor was I in the mood to do so off the bench with this monster magnum).
They're also extremely expensive. . . I think an entry level Blaser 93 is going to run you at least a couple thousand dollars, and they go up from there depending on wood finish, and what other bells and whistles you want.
Why would you buy a Blaser?

The interchangeable barrel concept is a lot more popular in Europe. There, it can take reams of paperwork, months of delay, and considerable expense to get ANY gun. So having the ability to take your one gun and make it function like other ones by swapping out relatively easy to obtain barrels/actions is a huge boon.
But if you want one nice gun that can swap calibers, this could be a way to go.
Straight pull design is definitely nice, though I'm not sure the "niceness" mitigates the cost.
It does mean reduced interference between the scope and bolt, and it could mean faster followup shots, if that's what you are after.0
