value of '69 Colt 38 Diamondback

My mom has a 1969 Colt diamondback 38 with a 4" bbl, it is a special edition fopr police officers, it was her deceased husbands. Test fired only, then cleaned and still in the box with documentation. Value, opinions? Also, what are the laws regarding sale and shipping? TIA, Jim

  Worth your time to go and check out the auction side and see what they are going for, you will be shocked at what they bring. Start here they vary in price but what you state should bring good money

  I would expect it to sell in the $750-850 range.
