Need to ask a question from one of you FFL guys from California. Can I send a M-1 Carbine with a box of ammo and a 15-round magazine to a FFL dealer in California?? I sold one (but haven't shipped yet) to a guy out there but I want to stay legal. I am a FFL dealer (in Alabama) and I read the CA gun laws but I'm still confused.

    Thanks for any help,

    Larry

Garand should be totally fine in CA as it has a fixed 8 round magazine and CA has a 10 round max capacity for newer guns. I have a friend in Fresno, CA who just bought one so I would say go ahead and list it.

Not to quibble, but the correct name is "M1", not "M-1". It might matter, as many folks search on "M1 rifle" or "Garand".

Or, cover all bases with all 3 in the title.

You are fine for CA sales with your M1 Rifle.

How about the M1 carbine. Can it be shipped without the mag?

If it is an M1 carbine and not an M1A1 (folding stock) then it is also fine. You cannot ship a magazine over 10 round capacity unless the sale is to a FFL dealer who also holds a high capacity magazine permit issued by the CA Department of Justice.
