I would hold on to it, if I were you. Now with so many folks out of work and hurting, is not the best time to be selling anything. Not likely a heavily sportized Swede Mauser, is going to bring in big bucks even when times are good. Just got CDNN's catalog in the mail, they are blowing out new Winchester and S & W sporters for less then $400, it's hard to compete with that.

I agree, in good times you might get $300-350 (not that it is not a better rifle than that) and in a soft market $250-$300. California roll-over stocks are not that sought after, the scope adds nothing to the value.

I like the looks of it and might be interested if I did not already have two .257s.

Fine pictures, and a nice rifle, but I have to agree with rufe and hedog. That said, I don't know what you feel you need to get out of it. You can always list it with a minimum bid and see what happens. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. As far as info, you seem to have covered all the bases and the quality of the pictures leaves little doubt as to the condition. Who made the barrel? Maybe a shot of the inletting?
    Good luck.
    Edit:
A front-on shot of the grip cap might help too.

I agree with the previous posters - NOT the best time to sell. A couple additional things you should add if you do try to sell: 1) what manufacture is the barrel. 2) has the bolt been modified to cock on opening. As I recall, the Swedes cock on closing. Nice looking gun, by the way, and a GREAT caliber.

    thanks everyone,

    points well taken.

it's as fine a rifle as i've ever owned and i may just keep it, tho i'm a bit weary of hunting.

it shoots a tight group. tho ammo is costly.

    cheers,
