Hello all... Will a s&w model 3000 3 inch chamber barrel fit a s&w 1000 gun? I see one here on auction side that has been fitted for choke tubes and would like to have it (if it will fit)so i can use different chokes in my 1000 without having 2 buy multiple barrels...that is if i could even find them. thanks in advance 4 advice

A better question might be,"How hot does the bake-on finish need to get".
I believe that the ribs on Remington barrels are brass brazed or possibly silver brazed (sil-brazed), both of which get into a near- red heat. (Welders, if I'm wrong please correct me). That kind of temperature is 1200 plus degrees.
I doubt that bake-on finishes get that hot.

This is entirely different from the older good quality double barrels which were mostly soft-soldered.

    Cheers,
