Aperture sight for dove-tail
I have a lever-action Marlin which is not drilled and tapped for a receiver sight; I would like to find a small aperture sight which would fit the rear dove-tail (rather than doing any drilling and tapping). Does anyone know if someone makes such a thing? Thanks.

I assume your Marlin is a very old one, which has no holes drilled and tapped in the receiver for an aperture sight (what most call a receiver sight). It was mentioned you would like one to install in the dovetail; do you mean on the barrel, to replace the open sight? Yet an aperture sight way forward on the barrel defeats the advantages of a receiver sight: the much-longer sighting radius, and quick sight alignment with single-plane focus on the front sight in relation to target. Had you considered a tang-mounted sight? I believe that no additional holes would need to be drilled, you would utilize the existing bolt hole for the stock attachment and the contour of the tang to locate the rear sight. Lyman No. 2 is one example of such.
If you have a newer Marlin lever, not drilled and tapped for side-of-receiver mounted receiver sights, there are holes drilled and tapped on the top of the receiver for scope mounts, and the rearmost of those holes would accomodate one of several receiver sights made to fit.0
