Buckmark Receiver Finish
I'm rebluing my 85 model Buckmark. The receiver is either aluminum or an alloy.
How do I strip what's left of the old finish off?
What product should I use to put a finish back on?
Thanks. Leonard.

If it's aluminum you are not going to re blue it. All you can do is coat it with something or send it out to be anodized.
If chemical strippers won't take the finish off then you're probably going to be looking at a really fine grit sandpaper and sand/buff the finish off. I recently did that to a Ruger 10/22 aluminum receiver (Be REAL careful around the serial number for obvious reasons) but I didn't refinish it, I buffed all the marks out and it came out looking like shiny stainless steel.
If that's not what you wnat then I would investigate the Dura Coat or similar thermal setting spray on finishs.

your best bet will be a spray on bakeing finish like brownell's or gun coat. both work well 0
