    Those plastic ones are the ones I have on my 1911. Price is a little high I think, $19. Mine came with Pachmyer wrap around grips, too bulky for my liking.

    The grips offered are not even USGI. Note the seller uses the word "type", a sure sign that they are commercial.

    But, if your M1911 has been refinished, you don't want to put on original wood grips. You might want to post photos if you don't know.

    Hello Spider is correct UNLESS your 1911 was rebuilt. shortly before WWII or even after WWII If your pistol is Black and has all 1911 parts not 1911A1 (slide stop pin, safety, grip safety ,long trigger H P marked barrel then it needs the grips as pictured by Spider However if the Pistol is Parkerized and arsenal rebuilt with some parts replaced most often barrel and grips. then it would have the plastic grips on it. A nice set of original double diamond grips will be $200.00 + Make sure what you have Pictures would go a long way to get more advise. "PRAISE THE HARD-BALL GUN"

    If the slide is original WWI Springfield, it would be period correct, but it still denotes a mix of parts. Did Colt send parts over to Springfield early 1917-1918? Anyway,

    If it's a rebuild, which the 'off company' slide indicates, then the wooden diamond grips should be appropriate, provided the arsenal re-build was done prior to WWII.

    If the slide is Springfield, INC. then all bets are off. Anything you put on it would be Okay, because nothing would be Okay.

    Bottom line: put anything you want on it, as nothing will return the gun to authentic. Best, Joe

    First off is the slide a WWI or WWII Springfield Slide a WW I slide will have an Eagle behind the ejection port and MODEL OF 1911 U.S.ARMY in front of the ejection port on the left side of the slide & is all black in color Then it should have wood grips. However If this is not what is marked on your pistol and it is not Black in color but it has a Gray almost sand blasted look finish anywhere from light gray to very dark gray Then it should have BROWN not Black Plastic grips . Good close up pictures will let us be able to advise you better.
