davidsons 1892 winchester?

a friend has 2 davidsons winchester 1892 rifles in 32-20 new in box that he wants to sell. supposedly there were only 500 made in this caliber. what are these worth? i tried doing a search but no luck . are these like the john wayne commeratives? thanks

    Davidson's is a large dealer located in Prescott AZ. They sell modern made guns. My WAG would be that the rifles are Brazilian made, modern replicas of the Winchester Model 92, rather then authentic Winchesters.


    If they are modern replicas made in Brazil, or perhaps Italy? Not likely they would have any great collectors value, specially nowadays with the economy in the toilet, and lots of folks hurting for money.

    .32-20 Ammo is hard to come by and expensive, when you can find it. The SASS guys who do western reenactments would probably be the only ones interested in a 92 replica chambered for 32-20.

    Guns were made in Japan. Well made and fun to shoot. Buy to enjoy.

    Those made for Davidson's were made by Miroku in Japan under license by Winchester's manufacturer. They make 5 of the Brazillian made ones, and are much smoother and more accurate out of the box. The dealer cost was around $800.00-$850.00, so if you can get one for a grand to twelve hundred that is real good. They made some called the Euro Classic that were papered as such. Those were very small quantities. They made them in 32-20, and 38-40. The quantities are 30, and 50 respectively. If you can find one they will sell for much more.

    there is a write-up in this months American rifleman mag about them. MSRP is around $1800 if i remember right. I shoot 32-20 and was thinking about getting one, then i saw the price.[:0]

    Check over on the auction side from time to time. There have been several variations made over the last 8-10 years or so. That $1800.00 MSP I believe relates to the takedown model. They used to be fairly heavy on the auction side, but a lot of them dried up. You still see the 44-40, 38-40, 45 colt, 357, and 44 magnums frequently, but the ones that have the 32-20's are holding on to them.
