WITG: Omega 8 shot .22LR revolver
It's a little rough but I picked it up awhile back, adn have not been able to find much out about it. It says Omega made in Germany just in front of the grip but behind the cylinder. Directly in front of the cylinder it says "HW 7" Above that, on the outside of the barrel, it's got what appears to be a Spartan or a Viking. Nelow the "HW7" is 3 little emblems, the center appears to be a Police badge or acorn, the one to it's right has a oblong shape w/ 66 and far left is an indescribable emblem w/ eithier a N or sideways z below it.
The cylinder is released by pulling a circle shaped metal pin. If opened and pushed the other way it'll push out spent casing. It's got a 6 digit serial on both the right side of the frame and on the piece that pushes into the frame in front of the cylinder. I've got it and it's not a bad little shooter. I like something w/ more bang (See: Glock 36. My CHL weapon), but to go and drop 90 rounds of ammo down range for $2.75 from time to time is good fun as well.
My questions are
1. Any place I can find alot of information about it?
2. What's it worth?
3. Any significant story about it?
4. Any function/safety flaws that need to be tended to?
5. Is there any online groups where all they do is specifically discuss there guns?

However now that I've posted it on the internet, I'll have to find another. The curiosity is killing me thou. I thank whoever helps. No matter how little it'll be greatly appreciated.

The brand name of the gun is Arminius, the head is a bust of the German Cherusci tribal leader of that name who defeated the Romans.
The various little symbols are German proof marks, including a 1966 date stamp.

The pistol was produced by the German firm Weirauch and often branded as Arminius. There were a wide variety of caliber and barrel lengths available, but the pistols look more or less alike..
My questions are
1. Any place I can find alot of information about it?
There is no collector interest in these pistols so very little research has been done about the history, although the company still exists and produces fine match rifles
2. What's it worth?
In like new shape abut $100. Yours is nowhere near close to new so maybe $50
3. Any significant story about it?
No, it is a very common pistol and found in garages and shoe boxes all over the USA.
4. Any function/safety flaws that need to be tended to?
Nope, there are actually well made pistols, function fine and there are no safety concerns

You could start your own dedicated Arminius forum, otherwise none that I know of
The pistol is a decent shooter, but has nothing historic or any significance attached to it. These were low cost working guns...And still are.0 -
Thank you Hawk and Mark very much. I wish this forum had a vote for quality similar to yahoo questions, you'd both get 5 stars from me. I'm going to look up the Arminius information right now.
As far as price/condition I paid $30 for it and after shooting it was very pleased w/ it's firing. You're right about the condition Mark, it's very rough cosmetically. Pitting, holster wear and it looks like some rust is trying to form. The good thou is everything is tight, the cylinder has zero wobble, grips are firm and gritty and the hammer hits and locks strong. I'm off to do some more research. I hope you Guys have a great holiday and get all the go bang toys on your wish list. Once more thank you.
Edit: I just re-read my original post and saw the Mod edit. I apologies. I'm new to the board and was trying to keep it honest and keep the "trolling"/ "flaming" to a minimum. That's why I stated why I purchased this particular gun and the definition of what it meant. I really had no intention of encouraging illegal activity.0
