    As with all small capacity case, be precise with your powder measuring. Small variations will produce larger results. The same encouragement applies to OAL, neck tension and resizing the cases.

    Thanks nononsense. The small charge changes I am aware of...I made a 5MM wildcat off of the 5.7x28 but its in a bolt action and not the original 5.7x28MM in a semiauto pistol. .1 charge change makes a velocity change of 50 to 70 fps. Using ball powder because it meters well. Currently using WW 296 in the 5MM wildcat. What about the pistol round? Probably too slow. I haven't seen any 5.7x28MM in my reloading manuals...time for a new reloading manual?

    I knew that you would be aware of the small load discrepancies but you asked and I wrote for the benefit of the other members wanting to try reloading for this cartridge.

    I try to buy all the current reloading manuals in an attempt to stay current with the new powders and bullets. The manufacturers used to sell these in an appealing price range or even give them away but no more. Now it costs quite a bit to get all of the manuals in new editions.

    If your older manuals don't list the 5.7x28mm you should consider getting at least two more new additions with the information.
