What do I have?
I have a spingfield 1911A1. It is chambered in 9mm and I cannot find any information on it, or another one like it! I'm looking not just for its value but general info on it and how i might find another one. It appears to be a standard model (no bell or whistles). Also its an original 9mm frame, not a conversion. Anybody have any background info on this thing? P.S. I have pictures but cant figure out how to add them to this posting.

Since so many of them were sporterized after they were imported and sold as surplus in the States during the 50's and 60's. One in factory original condition would have substantial interest to a military rifle collector nowadays.0 -
The rifle was originally chambered for a .310 Cadet cartridge. If your gun is stamped "32-20", then it has been modified to fit that cartridge - (a very common thing in guns brought into the US.)
If it is in .32-20, its probably in the $350 - $450 range. Add another $100 if it is still the original .310 and not sporterized.0 -
Is it possible that this is Not a Martini. As technically the martini is not a falling block but rather a TIPPING /Hinged action. I know BSA made thousands upon thousands of martini actions but didn't they also make a falling block model. 0 -
also, if it has been rechambered to .32/20 it won't shoot worth a hoot. the .310 martini cart. uses a .321" dia. bullet (heeled type, like a .22 l.r.). 0
