What bit size is needed for 1911 mag base plate mount screws?

3/32 for Pachmayr pads. 0 -
Sorry have no clue on the screw size yet, got in the bumper pads and 2 screws ea. with out any info. 0 -
I'm going to speculate that you are also going to need to know the THREAD Pitch and thus the TAP size of the screws you. Unless they are self tapping, which I doubt.
Might I suggest you take the "works" to your local, friendly Gunsmith?0 -
The screw size is 4-40 on the pads from Chip McCormick, Ed Brown & J&J and they are self tapping. Check the ends of the screws and if they have slots cut into the body across the threads they are self tapping. Can't say what the drill size is but maybe someone has a drill chart handy. 0 -
