Accurate 9MM for CCW
Looking to buy a 9MM for CCW. Was looking and reading about the Glocks but not sure of their accuracy. What other makes and models would be good for CCW and accurate. Not looking for anything with beavertail or side levers, the smoother the better. $700 or less would be nice. Thank You.

Get a Kahl PM9...not sure how you define accurate...10 inch pie tin at 25 yards is good by my book for a smaller carry gun. 38 Super comp at 25 yards will get 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch, but its a totally different gun. 0 -

Depends where you live. If it cold enough to wear a jacket- then carry a full size pistol in a shoulder rig, summer carry a compact in your pocket or your waist. 0 -
I carry the Kahr P-9 too. Small, accurate & reliable. 0 -
Believe it or not, my wife just purchased a 9mm Firestorm/Bersa Pro and it shoots unbelievably well. At 25ft shoots 1/2" groups. Shot my reloads, factory and hollow points very well. Small footprint pistol. $360 out the door. Comes in either 10, 13, 15, or 17rnd mags, depending on what the vendor has in stock. Gun handles very well and feels great. 0 -
Snipe2...IMHO CC issues center around weight, accuracy and caliber. If I do my part, almost all pistols are "accurate" at combat range, usually defined at 7 yds or so. I am partial to winter carry with a jackass rig and summer carry in a crossdraw. 9mm? I still like my nickel Smith 39 or 59 (more weight). Just old fashioned I guess but the old Smith's are always reliable, still do the job and are about half the price you list on the GB auction side right now. 45? Still carry my Glock 36...would prefer my 1911 but it is too heavy to lug around for this old guy! Summer carry? A Taurus Titatium with .38+P's does the job nicely. So light I hardly know that it is there! But always important to constantly practice with what you carry. Good shooting! 0 -
Accuracy?
Irrelevant.
If you're entering into high-level bullseye competition than your gun needs to be super accurate.
For self-defense? Nah.
EVERY compact 9mm will give you a 3" group (if not significantly less) at 10 yards, which is all you need for defense. Unless you are a fairly accomplished shooter (and if you were, you wouldn't be asking the question here), the limiting factor in accuracy is going to be YOU, not the gun.
Work on finding one that's light and small enough that you're actually going to carry it, one that fits your hand well and you can comfortably operate.
And yeah. . .while you can spend $700, you should be able to find a decent compact or subcompact 9mm for $450 (or less).0 -

unless you want an EMP!
I only carry 1911 style pistols and the emp fits the bill and carries very well. If i want something smaller, it's the sig p238 or the mustang pocketlite (.380)
