Marlin 1936

I recently took a Marlin Mod. 1936 in a trade and don't know much about them , other than that they were the predesesor of the 336 . When was it made ? the S/N is 46XX and the Cal. is 30-30 Win. She's in pretty good shape , the bore is a little dark after a judicious cleaning ( 100 +) patches , lots of rifling left though .

  Made 1936-1948 Came in carbine & rifle...30-30 and 32 spl. Also a deluxe version checkered. There is one listed by Leroy Merz in very nice condition for $798 dollars.

  Actually, only made in 1936. After that, they were the 36, and after that, starting in 1948, the 336.
