new winchester 9422
can anyone help me establish a fair price for a winchester 9422 xtr serial# f 405382. this gun is in the original box, perfect condition, never been fired.I'm looking to sell it,and get one that is more practical for my son to shoot. It would be a shame to use this one.It would be better in somebodies collection. Any info, price to ask, what year, how many made, how collectable.

Welcome to the forum.
The classic response to your question is to look on the auction side and see if you can find similar guns for sale. If so, remember you want to look at what they actually sell for, not what someone may list as a minimum and then get no takers.
I'd love to have another. Sold mine years ago but wouldn't want to pay what you can likely get for an unfired rifle with box and papers.
W.A.G., if it were me, I'd put $500 as a minimum bid and see what happens.

By the serial number, it was manufactured in 1980. Is it a .22lr or .22 magnum? 0 -
i have 2 first year 9422 that i paid 450 each for i would start auction at 500 and see were it goes 0 -
the string tag on the lever says caliber 22 rim fire,mag cap 21 short,17 longs,15 long rifles,overall length 37 1/8,barrel length 20 1/2 0 -
22 long rifle. Great gun. Please post a link when you list your Winchester. 0 -
this gun is as nice as you will ever find.not a scuf, scratch,or finger print. 0 -
I think it will bring around $650. The 9422 is one of the newer Winchesters that is gaining in popularity with collectors. New in box, low serial number, and case colored 9422's all bring a premium. 0 -
I listed my 22. Item #14985662. Thanks to everyone for the help 0 -
I did a cut and paste to look at your rifle and am told that is not a valid number.
149851662 is correct.0 -
149851662#8207; this is straight off the email that was sent to me, by the way I agree with the politician statement! 0 -

Here's the link - much easier: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=149851662
By the way: I would NEVER do a wire transfer to a NR seller!0
