    Jim,

Your Prescott revolver, if 38 rimfire was made for the old heel based 38 round & the bore should be .375 where modern 38 ammo is actually 35 caliber with .357 bore.

When self contained cartridges were first designed, the base of the bullet was crimped into the case mouth much like a gas check is crimped on now. The majority of the bullet along with the lube was outside the case (22 long rifle is still made this way). When redesigned, they simply lengthened the case & sized the bullet to the inside case diameter rather than the outside. That is how modern 38 ammo evolved to have a 35 bore.

A question from one Jim to another.

Why do your auctions state shipping to "lower 48" when Alaska is served by your very same post office? We pay with "yankee green" same as every where else. Our gun laws are more favorable than most. You seem to want to limit your business potential, I am curious as to why.

    Jim (the one in Alaska)

    Hello Jim,

    Thanks for the great post!

My lower 48 refers to the amount paid....but I don't make this clear. I'll go tack the correct reference regarding any EXTRA shipping amount may apply to Alaska or Hawaii.

    Thanks again,
    Jim in Florida
