I recently took on trade a rem.model 742 in 280 cal How do I find out what year it was made and what is it worth being an odd caliber?

  One thing you need to do is inspect the wear up underneath where the multi-lugged bolt can beat up the track. Hold it open and use a flashlight.
  
  My guess is somewhere in the $350-450 range, unless worn, rusty or wood beat up. Is it a BDL with fancy wood?
