Taurus model 85 Ultra Lite
I recently bought one of these .38 spl's. Can they handle the extra pressure of shooting +p ammo? How about occasionaly shooting +p ammo?Thanks.

Taurus says +P ammo is OK from all its current manufacture 85 series revolvers:

In general, the .38 special is a blackpowder era cartridge loaded to relatively low pressures, roughly HALF the operating pressures of more common modern smokeless rounds like .357 magnum, or 9mm luger. The .38+Ps are only 10% more powerful than ordinary .38 special, meaning they are operating at WAY less pressure than many other common loads.
So in my personal opinion, any modern .38 revolver ought to be fine with UNLIMITED numbers of +P rounds, and if it isn't safe with +P ammo, its probably not safe with ordinary ammo.
The limiting factor here in shooting +P ammo is probably going to be the thickness of your wallet, not the quality of the gun!0 -

I HAVE THE CIA 850, +P works in it but they are a hand full in that light weight titanium gun,[;)] 0
