Gatling Gun 2/3 working replica
I am asking for price guidance on a gatling gun that I have inherited. The gun was made about 12 years ago by Furr or Furman. No longer exists. It is cast brass, 9 barell working...we fired it once...on a maple/solid brass carriage. The receipt in the estate states the person paid over 10 thousand dollars for it and had it custom made. I have recently sent the parts for cleaning and the barrel since it was fired to check workability. Does anyone know the value of this item? If not, where to go for appraisal. I also have Thompsons, snail shells, clips, loaders, liberty pistols, antique ammo in original unopen packaging and 12 belgium browning rifles made in belgium...all mint with incredible carvings, detailed butts and stunning workmanship. Thank you...Jacqueline...the collection has papers and a class 3 dealer has an M-1 with the Thompsons for those interested. They were used in the Johnny Depp movie and returned to the the estate. I do not keep the above items.

Where, how, do you put a 12 gauge shotgun shell in a subscale Gatling?
I mean the 12 ga shell is larger at least in diameter than the rifle rounds the original was chambered for.0 -

Thank you...that is what I have to a tee, although it is used once and pristine...no scratches....not a mark. It is 12 gauge....9 barrels...a little different on the top and fired once. Mine is 1/3 scale a bit larger. Wacky 0 -
To answer your question directly, no one really knows the "value". This is a custom order item for which there is a very limited market, especially with today's economy. And, a 12 gauge gatling would be my last choice for caliber.
But, the listing posted by Spider is a big help. It doesn't mean that it is worth $9,500, it just means they haven't yet dropped the price enough for it to sell. FWIW, I think $5,000 would be the most it will bring.
An item this big & heavy will be difficult to sell on the Internet. You can't just drop it off at the UPS Store. You might want to talk to the folks at Rock Island Auctions; they seem to have a lot of rich customers willing to spend outrageous amounts for exotica.

Yes they will charge a fee, but they will earn ever $ and you will get the most $$$ for little work. 0 -
That is a Furr Gatling, likely 1/3 scale in .22 short. Carl Furr made about 500 of them (various scales and models) and they are the best scale gatling guns made, IMHO. $15K is waaay high. I've tracked 10 or 12 sales in the past 3-4 years and with the exception of one or two they rarely, if ever, bring anything close to that. Half of that would be a push and unlikely.

A very dear friend of mine who owned a popular gunshop in UPSTATE NY, had one of the 22 short or 22lr models on display in his shop. He is deceased now, and his wife and children had to sell it all. What a shame it was...Old winchesters and Colts that took him years to acquire. The auction was not even listed to my knowledge.
I believe they sold the Furr for 3K if I am not mistaken. It had only been test fired.
