Perry, I sent you some emails about my 38 AMU via both GB and your other one. Haven't heard anything in return. Did you receive them?

Hello Yes I did get the pictures and this time of year I hunt every day that weather permits "today aint one of them[:(!]".The pictures went to my work Email I have High Spped there and dial up at home .The good thing about getting old is you can make the same new friend every day [:I]. Trying to connect the dots between a user GB name and the persons real name does that to me . I do like your pistol, but things are tight with me like lots of folks . I am taking 2 tables worth of nice stuff to Louisville Gun Show in Feb. If I hit the jack pot I might get back to you . I don't know how the guy that was asking questions about his ever had a working gun . He stated his barrel was in a 45acp slide . I have a NEW unfitted barrel but it only has one top locking lug "would not fit in a 45 slide" and the extractor and the ejector would be in the wrong place for an AMU case head .....Merry Christmas & happy New Year Karl. 0 -
Have you seen the "new" (to me at least) book by Bill Jenkins? U.S. MILITARY MATCH AND MARKSMANSHIP AUTOMATIC PISTOLS.
It seems that Jim Clark built most of the AMU kits. Some were converted to 38 Special from new (mine) and won't work with the AMU cartridge if modified.
Has your new barrel been modified?
I'm still interested in your Gov't NM rebuild. I'd like to use it for EIC matches. Please don't let that go without my first refusal, ok?
I understand "tight". I'm recently retired and this is a whole new world for me.0 -
Yes It is a wonderful book. I wish I had known he was going to write this book I could have given him a number of guns from my collection that examples of were not in the book . One of these days I would like to go to Camp Perry Again along with Mr Jenkins and set up a display so the New shooters & older shooters could see some of the guns from years past. 0
