    Hello Dan I have been both shooting for fun /hunting /& competition The 1911 type pistols for many years . They are my favorite. You have a very nice pistol . IN MY OPINION you only have ONE first Gun / Pistol . Take it from one whose been there I sold my first pistol and my first shotgun was stolen BuT I still have my first Rifle Marlin model 99C I will NEVER sell it once gone it can never be recovered . At your age I take it to be about 30 find another way to raise the money $800.00 + or - that you would get for your pistol.

    A agree with Perry Shooter. After 25 or so years of buying guns and selling them for one reason or another, I have many that I wish I could have back. It is also a bad time to sell with the economy the way it is. Hold onto it. It is a very nice first gun.

    Thank you for the quick replies! I need to sell it do to personal reasons. No, I didn't shoot or attempt to shoot anyone(else) [:D]

    I did and do love this gun dearly, and will miss it. However it needs to go. Although I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly.

    The difference between the various size "Government" models is the length of the barrel & slide, usually not the frame. The "Commander" models have a 4 1/4" barrel, so you can accurately say yours is a "commander size" pistol. Colt made other sizes, & they are what they are. Yours is not a "Combat Commander", it is a "Concealed Carry Officers".

    I understand. Been there,done that. You might try using the smart search on the auction side and search the finished auctions to see what similar guns sold for. Or you could start the auction at a penny and let the buyers determine the value. Either way it is a beautiful gun. You should do well.

    Leif: Learn to respect the rules: NO OFFERS TO BUY OR SELL IN THE FORUMS!

    Dan: Please list your Colt on the auction side and give us the auction number. You'll get your best price here and please ignore Leif's request.

    Dan;
    The guys are right on as usual. I think the CCO was made only one year '94 or '96? I purchased mine right around there for $485 delivered. Have carried concealed ever since. Excellant 1911, one of my favorites. Have seen them for $1500 asking price, Perry is probably more realistic. However not that many out there.
    Spider is right, I have made that mistake once also. List it with good pics and see where it goes.

    Yes, my apologies, gentlemen. I should have read more carefully. Won't happen again.
    I'll watch the auction. Good luck with whatever you decide.
