Anyone shoot SWC?

Out of a 1911 45acp? Any feeding problems? I found some for 15.00 a box of 50 thought I'd try them out.

    A SWC is the most common bullet for target shooters. 185 or 200 grain. No problems at all as long as it is a good quality reload.

    I've been shooting and handloading 200gr SWC thru my 1911's since the 90's, when I got my first 1911. I swear you'd think the gun was designed to shoot them.

    Been casting and shooting them for over 30 years. Slight adjustments in seating depth may be required depending on the gun. Once you have the seating depth set correctly they will feed in just about any 45.

    I've shot 1,000's of 200SWC's out of my 1911's. Feed like a round nose.

    I have been shooting 185-215 grain SWC 45 acp for close to 40 years at a rate of 5000-7500 rounds per year IMHO the best bullet you can shoot . UNLESS you are shooting a DCM/CMP match where you have to shoot 230 grain Jacketed round nose "PRAISE THE HARD-BALL GUN"

    The only two problems I can think of, besides seating depth, is you may need to polish the feed ramp and modify the magazine for feeding.
    That is, if you pistol wont feed them.[:D]
    I modified my mags for SWC, and they will feed anything now, even the short 185's.

    MY 1911'S eat just about anything i feed it, the ones i have trouble with were just a bad round,
    i have found that some 255gr work great also and accurate and no feed problems, finding load data was slim.

    was told some use the 255-260 for bowling pin shoots
