22 rifle, 62A slide action Takedown instructions?
I have a Winchester 62A. Rossi makes a copy of it. What steps should I follow to take either down into 2 pieces for compact storage or transport? Should it be cocked? What should the hammer and slide position be? Does the trigger need to be pulled?

I had always thought the slide had to be forward & the hammer down.
You made me try & I discovered it doesn't matter.
Reassembly is much harder. Ask again when you get ready to put it back together.[}:)]0 -

slide and hammer can be down just loosen the takedown screw pull apart. reverse for assembly. very simple takedown.on reassembly might have to pull the takedown screw out abit to clear the reciever but was made too be easy. Kevin 0 -
I would let the hammer down just to relieve the tension on the mainspring. 0
