Ok, what is the difference!

    The normal gold dot is what you need. If you look they test and show ballistic results fired from a 4" barrel.

    The short barrel is tested in 3.5" barrels but if you look they have .44mag and .38spl which is kinda the flagship of that line, and is designed for "snub" nose revolvers. The semi-auto cartridges just look like the regular stuff with lower velocities because it was tested in the shorter barrels.

    Thanks for the answer. Any idea what velocity the short barrel 40 cal S&W 180 grain gold dot bullet is meant to open up at?
