I went back to my last post and realized I implied you would be using the scope in urban terrain. Under normal circumstances I would think this wouldn't happen. My brain went all the way back to my army days and doing MOUT training.
If you are shooting game, using the scope as a tactical supplement to a rifle in a competition or just to have one then ten power is good. In some ways it's better than 16 or higher because I've watched many people not think to dial down their scopes when conditions don't allow the use of high power. And a clear scope in 10x is plenty enough to see half silhouette type targets @ 1k.

The Burris scope is an XTR XTreme Tactical. The seller has it listed as a closeout. I could not find it anywhere else. The gun will be used mainly for long range target shooting, over 100 yards. But it is a tactical rifle. I bought it with that in mind, to be used as such. I do live in an urban area. Maybe the 10X is overdoing it on the magnification?
I'm going to agree with the others a Quality variable mil dot 2-10x or 3-10x would be better for you..
