M1 Carbine???

Did Marlin make barrels for Nat. Postal Meter??Or replacement ones??

    Even though you once told anyone who'd listen in General Discussion that they could go to other forums for better answers to their gun questions than we provide here (here includes me by the way):

    NPM did not produce any of their own barrels, all NPM carbine barrels were supplied to them by the Army and were from a variety of contractors, including Marlin.

    Mark the ??? that I said should be answered on a another forum was about CA gun laws where besides you and a few others here in CA can answer them the others don't know poop about the laws here.I seen answers about pistols that were very untrue.The CA laws are so confusing people living here and some dealers don't even know them.Mark everybody talks about CA laws they don't know that NY laws are just as bad.They also have a high cap law you can't own a pistol without a permit and your NY or any state CC permit is no good in NYC.If I asked on GEN. DIS.if you can own more then a 10 rd mag here in CA how many wrong answers do you think I would get before I get the wright one and it would probly come from you or Lefty.The other thing I type so slow there was 3 or 4 ans. when I started typing and then you ans. and I finished 3 or 4 later.I didn't read your ans. first.

    Item in blue above: Perhaps you are noticing that we don't discuss NY restrictions nearly as much (California taking center stage here) because In New York:

    1. No restriction on AWB style rifles and hi-cap mags if manufactured before the start date of the ban.
    2. No restriction on any AWB style rifle if they meet minima.
    3. No 'fixed magazines' requirement in New York.
    4. No 'NY State declared' unsafe firearm. No 'let's check the [NY approved list] to see if I can send this gun' scenario.
    5. No advance New York State paperwork needed for the shipper to send a firearm into NY state.

    CA has a bad rep. Bad rap? Who knows. No one has a disclaimer that they refuse to sell to NY. Best, Joe

    If the date on the barrel is the same as the date of manufacture of the receiver you are good to go if the barrel date is different then the manufacture date of the receiver its a replacement barrel.

    Joe the start date of the NY ban 9/14/94 so that means that 25 year old AWB style rifles and mags can be owned only and they take it 1 step further than CA saying bayo lugs are a evel feature.There is legal awb's here if they were reg. before the ban.
    2 The fixed mag only applies to AR or AK rifles with evel features. BUT we can buy a new one were has to haveone pre ban before 9/14/94.WE CAN OWN 30RD mags as long as we owned them before 1999 and the gun has no evel features.[M1 Carbines M14 Minni 14]Here in CA we need to own the mag not the gun before the ban also includes pistol mags
    3 NY has the same Saturday night spc. laws but don't enforce them.

    4 The advanced notice paperwork is for dealers only not private sales.
