Winchester Mod. 94 -1949

My friend & I both have Mod.94 Winchesters made in 1949 & both are 32 cal. Mine has a flat band & his doesn't. Were both kinds made in 1949 or was his modified after purchase

  If you post your serial numbers, Bert can give you the exact year of production and answer your questions. If you are relying on data published by George Madis, they are notoriously wrong.

  Your Carbine was most likely made in mid 1948, and your friend's gun in late 1948 or early 1949.
  
  The Flat-band Carbine production took place in the years 1946 to 1948 (and it was not during the entire years of 1946 or 1948). In order to determine if both guns are correct, I really need to know what the serial numbers are for each.
