  Does anybody know if this gun was put out by Colt?

  Your pistol with the C as part of the serial number was originally made for the civilian market However it was in a serial number range that was during WW II and may have been transferred to military ownership.I have never seen a military pistol that was factory Chromed or Nickel Plated honor guard or not. With close up in focus pictures we may be able to tell if this has been buffed and refinished. If refinished it is now only a shooter [V][:(]
