Mossberg .22's
I have a couple of Mossbergs that I've purchased at gun shows a few years ago. A 42M(c) with a stock that is not walnut--it's a yellowish color; appears to be beech or birch (?). A 51M(a) with a front sight hood stamped "Mossberg 1B". All my other Mossberg .22's have walnut stocks and I haven't seen a front sight hood with any markings before. Any one else?

I THINK some of the rifles may have been made with Birch stocks- There is a good variation in color among my Mossy's. A really good place to ask is havlinsales.com. Vic Havlin, and his wife cheryl, run the Mossberg Collectors Assoc, sell Mossberg parts, and are erally nice people. Run a google serach for epix damguy mossberg, and a gent has a great listing of various Mossberg 22s, data on the models, and pictures. 0 -
Yeah, I'm a member of that Assoc. Thought I'd ask here to get a wider response. 0
