887 Nitro Mag v. 870 Express Super Mag?
I'm looking to purchase two shotguns, one for my 12 year old son and one for myself. I want versatile guns for a variety of applications without overspending. I've settled on the 870 Express in 20 gauge for my son. I am leaning toward the 870 Express Super Mag in 12 gauge for myself but am intrigued with the new 887 Nitro Mag. Before I purchase, is there anyone that owns the new 887 that will render an opinion? I realize a model that's been around for several decades comes with a proven history and is probably the safer bet, but . . .

Rockydawg,
I have had the chance to try an 887, and after shooting it decided for sure, that I will never own one. It feels cheap, and does not fit me. It impresses me as Remington's version of Benelli's NOVA, which was not a big hit either. I also dislike the long stroke of the 3 1/2 inch pump guns. IMHO, if you can't get it done with a 3 inch and heavy shot, it doesn't need to be, or can't be done.
