    Got the pictures on Hunt101 under Surplus Rifles but can't seem to get them over here! They are tagged "indetify this Mauser' if you can find your way. THANKS, BUCK

    The crest on the receiver is the one used by the Spanish Air Force on their Mausers. The sling attachment cut into the left side of the stock is the one used by the post W W II French military on their Mausers. Either the French got their hands on some of the Spanish rifles, or somebody restocked a Spanish rifle with a French stock?

    It appears that the front ring of this receiver has been scrubbed. There are two letters still faintly visible which could be the arsenal name of Danzig.

    Here is an example:

    Beyond that, it's anyone's guess.

    That explains the stock. It was originally a German W W I vintage 98 AZ carbine that was reworked for the Spanish Air Force.
