Walker Colt
I have a walker colt I have had it for a very long time the only markings are US 1847 and the number 12345 and on the cylinder is MODEL US M.R. and patent no 345 and with a magnify glass I found W L O rmsby Sc. N Y on it. The gun is in good condition and I use to shoot it a lot, does any know any thing about this gun.

I suspect that you have a replica, not a genuine Walker. The numbers should read, for example: "D Co. No. 109", "B Co. No. 42", etc. "A" through "D" company Walkers were numbered 1-220 and "E" Company 1-120.
Due to your serial number and lack of Colt markings, I definitely believe it's a modern reproduction made in Italy or Belgium. Please post pics with clear closeups of all markings.0 -
1847 was thed year that Colt introduced the Walker. There were approximately 1,100 of them made as has been previously stated, so the 5 digit serial you give, and the lack of Colt or US Military inspector markings, put it the replica category. Value might be $200.00 tops.
It was a nice thought though, as a shootable ORIGINAL Walker is the HOLY GRAIL of Colt collecting. You could virtually write your own check for it.

Be aware that you might have an original 3rd Model Dragoon as your serial number is in the correct range. The Dragoons are similar to the Walker. Barrel length? Pictures?

A Dragoon will have a clasp to hold the tip of the rammer lever at the end of the barrel. A Walker will not. 0
