Winchester 94AE Stainless 44 mag
I inherited a stainless (winchester proof steel)94AE 44mag w/ walnut stock. Serial #63908**. It appears to only be a few years old and is in nearly perfect condition. It does not have any special markings. I have not been able to find any information on a stainless 94AE. I doubt it is a collector's item but I am curious to know: What year was it made? What is it worth?

are you sure its stainless??? they did some in nickel for certain jobbers/wholesalers,,i have a nickeled 9422 that if it did not have speckles on the reciver one would think it was stainless..but if it is stainless..it is worth big bucks now there is some refrance to some made in 1999/2000 about 500 of them 0 -
It has "winchester proof steel" stamped on the gun. It looks more like stainless steel than a nickel. It is very similar to my stainless steel remington 700. The 700 has a duller finish though. I guess I am not sure if "winchester proof steel" is stainless or not. 0 -
winchester proof steel stamp is on all guns, blued ,stainless,or otherwise 0 -
I just sold a in the box 94AE. That the box was marked brush crome which I would guess is what you have. I also could not find any info on it. 0 -
Could be brushed crome. I have never seen one of those before Would pictures help? How much did you sell the brushed crome one for? It still looks like stainless to me though. What does big bucks mean if it is stainless. 0 -
could be worth in the 2000.00 but you better have a factory letter showing one of the 500 built 0
