Remington 870 Express accepts multiple chokes?
I am looking into purchasing two Remington 870 Express shotguns in 12 and 20 gauges. The 12 is for me and the 20 for my twelve year old son. We would use the guns for a variety of shooting applications including turkey, upland, waterfowl, and target. My question is will the Remington 870 Express accept multiple chokes for multiple applications and is this the wisest way to go for versatility without spending a large amount of money? Thanks.

It depends on which barrel the gun comes with. Most, I believe, come with the Rem-Choke system. I have 1100s in 12 and 20 gauge with Rem-Chokes. Very versitle. Some barrels have a fixed choke for specific purposes. 0 -
MarkG, on the Gallery of Guns site, the choke is listed as Multi-choke (Modified). I am assuming this means the stock barrel is modified but capable of accepting multiple other chokes. Would that be correct? 0 -
I checked the Remington website. You are correct. The express has a Rem-Choke system and is supplied with a Modified screw in choke. The rest are up to you. Here is a link to the page.
