I had the 1415/1416 Anschutz with the sporter barrel, and I have a CZ 452 in .17 HMR. The Anschutz is very accurate with good ammo, and the Anschutz triggers are hard to beat, and unless you have a good gunsmith slick up the trigger on the 452, the Anschutz is much better there.

There is a difference in how the two rifles feel, however. The 452 (at least in the .17 HMR configuration), is easier for me to shoot well offhand, because it has a bit more weight toward the front (partly because the .17 hole is so small, leaving more weight in the barrel). Also, the 452 has a soft buttpad, where the Anschutz has a hard plastic one. The hard plastic slips more easily on clothing, where the soft buttpad on the CZ tends to grip your clothing and not slip.

Also, the CZ weighs at least half a pound more, and feels more like a full sized rifle, almost like a full sized centerfire, where the Anschutz feels just a bit more like a toy.

I also prefer the safety on the CZ to that on the Anschutz, but they both work quite well.

Having said all that, I probably put at least 40,000 rounds through the Anschutz, and it never malfunctioned. If I had $1 for every Townsend ground squirrel that it killed, I could buy many very nice Dakota rifles. Nothing ever broke. It is a very fine little rifle.
