Hard to beat Burris or Nikon I like the Nikon Buckmaster with rear eye piece focus and third turret for parallax adjustment.

Burris...hands down. Not that you would ever need to use the warranty on a Burris, but if you, it doesnt matter if you are the 99th owner...they take it and fix it...no questions asked. With Nikon, you have to send in the waranty card within the specified amount of time from the purchase, then you get the run around, that it was damaged no fault to them. The Nikon does have great glass, but will not take the abuse. Also when you get ready to mount it, provided you are not mounting it on a ruger, or something with proprietary rings/mounts, use the Burris Signature series bases and rings. It's very hard to beat them for a novice.

I used a lot of scopes at various price, even the top end night force@ 1000+. For your money & mine, i only use Burris fullfield to 300yrs, ( i have used then further, but its hard work)so any further distances, use signature. Very underated scopes.

The armed responce unit, were jealous of my tools.[:D]

Shop the close out specials. Simmons WTC from Natchess is $70. Very nice 6.5-20x w/ 50mm objective. Very clear for me at 225 yards (longest range at the range I go to), very accurate clicks, adjustable focus.

I have sold off all but two of my Leupold scopes, my one Bauch & Lomb and several oddballs and replaced them all with one style of Burris or another. I am currently putting up a 17hm2 on an old Stevens Favorite single shot frame and will probably buy a 3x9x32 Burris Timberline short action scope for it. Mostly because I haven't tried one of those as yet and you can't beat the price at around $130.

Burris is a good scope and the prices are reasonable. If I had a lot of money to spend, I would get a night force. 22-250 is a great choice for coyotes.
