Hello Experts , Can anyone tell me if the actual stamped HK MK23 USSOCOM model 45 is available for civilian market purchase. I see many of the stamped "HK MARK 23" on the market but the actual USSOCOM stamped models seem to be rare finds. I found perhaps one website showing the HK MK23 USSOCOM stamped model but was listed as sold out.

    Many Thanks,
    Randy

I have looked for this myself, and don't have a solid answer. I have spoken with an early Mark 23 owner, who was knowledgable about the guns, and he thought that there was a very early, very small run of them that had "MK23 USSOCOM" on the slide as opposed to "Mark 23", however, his pistol did not.

HK designates the military version the MK23 and the civillian version "Mark 23" I have heard that there is a requirment for this differentiation in Germany, and that they had one engraved "MK23 JS" with the JS being the initals for hunting and sporting or something along those lines, that sold in Germany

The changes that I am aware of in "Mark 23" generations are: Originally put out in a camo soft case. 2nd generation was either black or camo soft case. Both of these generations had the shiny HE or hostile environment coating that match the "MK23's". The subsiquent generations have laser etching instead of engraving, but the same text, and come in a plastic hard case. They also have a finish similar to the current USP's flat black.

The MK23's also went through some changes as far as the slide lock to eliminate the noise of the slide cycling when shooting suppressed. It was on early models, but later dropped.

Anyway, I digress... The answer to your question is: I don't think so. I have only heard this as rumors, and have never seen one or any documention that they exist. It is definitely possible I am wrong, and I would love to see someone prove it.

I am pretty sure that you can't get any with the USSOCOM new.
