Anyone make anything like this?
For those who shoot cast bullets, or even jacketed and like to be as precise as possible, a common method is to slug the bore and measure both groove and bore diameter.
Similarly, a muzzle wear and throat wear gauge are common for buying used rifles, particularly from CMP.
But that only tells half the story. Yes, knowing the bore diameter is good. A ME or TE gauge is essentially a pin gauge with a tapered profile and markings to denote diameter.
But a pin gauge is really only going to show bore diameter. Knowing groove diameter is important.
I'm wondering, does anyone make something like a radius gauge small enough to slip into the rifling grooves at the muzzle of a gun and bypass the slugging operation?

Well, the Army called it a Star Gauge but a quick Google does not find anything of the sort available now. Most internal mikes are made for smooth bores and would only pick up the bore diameter.

You could alter a small telescope gage by grinding the tips of the anvil diameters small enough to gage between lands or across lands provided there's an even number of lands and grooves.
In the Army, Breech Bore plug gages were used to measure advance of throats.
Wear from cleaning rods wasn't measured during normal inspections but after 50 some years it's become an issue.0
