    Your finish is not Parkerized. It is blued, and it is original.

    WOW this has been a roller coaster ride at first I thought you had possibility of a very nice gift then when you stated it was parkerized [:(][V] I thought OH WELL another story gone bad but this is a prime example of why pictures are so important. From What I see the only thing wrong with your pistol is the modern barrel. Most likely The orginial was pitted badly from early ammo You will have a hard time finding a proper H P marked barrel and it will cost you some $$ but if you look at the flat surfaces it will look almost like grain very small scratches or like it was ground THIS IS CORRECT original finish AS it stands now $2000.00 + or - [^][:p] GREAT GIFT. [:)][:)][:)][:)] EDIT

    Thanks for all the help, got my pictures figured out also. The barrel was my main concern, I didn't think it was the right one, but I wasn't sure. The blueing looks a bit grey, thats why I first said I thought it was Perkerised, once I had time to look it was very aparent. It's one of the nicest WW1 era 1911s I've seen, you can tell it's been taken care of. I'm not a Colt collector, and I've got several 1911s that I shoot, so I'm going to put it on the auction side for sale.
