Cleaning old leather holster without sofetning

    Neatsfoot oil will soften I suggest saddle soap but don't try to clean really hard scrubbing a light touch will do

    Here is what I do. Work up a lather with saddle soap and water then apply with a SOFT, maybe horsehair, shoebrush. Brush it in and around on the leather. Rinse off the residue of saddle soap and allow it to dry. Do not let it dry over a heat vent or in the sun. After it dries apply Pacards antique leather treatment and rub it in. After some weeks a white substance may appear on the Pacards. Simply brush it off with a soft shoe brush. The general consensus is that neats foot oil will soften and weaken the leather.

    Perry and Herschel have it right, saddle soap is the thing to use.
    DO NOT USE NEATSFOOT OIL[B)] Unless you want to ruin the holster [;)]
