.220 Swift update
Well just want to give alittle update on my sightin in problem with my swift. all though i didnt get a chance to get to the store today to get some smaller slugs and still waiting on my shell holder to load my own (had to order it in) i did get my rifle sighted in an 1" high and center at 100yds still with 60grn h.p. and shootin half inch groups. and yes when i said keyholing i meant that two shots are touchin not the slug hit the paper broadfaced. sorry bout that im new. But wow when i went out to 200yds just for the hell of it. what an embarresment all over the place. 6" to the left then 4" to the right. so i hope by goin to a smaller ball it will fix that. and my last question is why do they lock the posts? i dont wanna be a burden and have to keep making a new post. thanx for all the helpful info guys!!

If you're getting 1/2" groups at 100 you should be under 2" at 200. What scope do you have on your rifle?0 -
its a rem 700 with a leapold vari x 3 4.5X14X40 0 -
Your difference between 100 and 200 indicates (to me) that your bullets are just barely stabilized (to long (heavy) for the twist rate).
Shorter (lighter) bullets should solve that problem.0 -
your rifle is most likely a 1:14 twist in factory configuration. That will not correctly stabilize a 60gr pill. 52gr max for the 14 twist rate.
The "slinging" of bullets at 200yds is indicative of insufficiently stabilized bullets.
Drop back to a 50gr pill and see what happens.0
