    I had a gunsmith work on an old Winchester 97 and he told me it was a Diamond model. Can anyone shed any light on this for me. Thanks. Bshooter

    I have a model 1897 built in 1906, I was told that the gun was to be painted black as it is now. I have doubts and was hopeing for imput. Blued, or Paint ??

    Blued... Winchester did not use paint on anything made in 1906.
