On the Remington.com website under "Ammunition", it indicates that the 300 Remington SAUM is being offered in the Premier Core-Lokt UltraBonded line (150 and 180 grain), and the Core-Lokt line (165 grain).

Of course, you may have to special order it, or order online because retailers may not bother to risk putting it on the shelves.

This is a very good cartridge.
However, the WSMs are better in all ways.
And Remington is known for not supporting their products.
Get it and buy 500 pieces of brass and never worry about little green's support.
That will get you through a couple of barrels.

If you reload don't worry about it, get 500-1000 cases, will last longer than the rifle.

While the WSM family has a little more powder capacity and slightly more velocity, both are excellent designs. The RSAUM are slightly more efficient, I don't think and animal or target would know the difference.

    laylandad,

Buy the rifle, you'll enjoy the cartridge and its performance and it's a bargain! Get some factory ammunition then lay in a supply of cases and components. The RSAUM cases can also be made from other cartridge cases if necessary. In a few years you could even rebarrel if you felt the need.

There isn't a nickel's worth of difference between the RSAUM and the WSM cartridges no matter what some gunwriters want you to believe. We've had several related discussions about the RSAUMs and the WSMs in the past so the threads are available in the archives if you use the search button at the top of the page. Use the term 'saum' and 'wsm' for the most responses.

By the way, DPMS is still using the .300 RSAUM in it's AR platform.

    Best.

Sorry Ambrose, only one to be had and it is in my collection now!! It is the Model Seven CDL and has an engraved stock with the Buckmasters logo. I don't know if that makes it more desirable or less, I am happy with it.
