    5.45 X 18mm is a Russian military pistol cartridge. It's used in the PSM pistol shown in this photo. It dates to the 1970's. Very few have ever made it to the west, because of the supposedly body armor penetrating capabilty of the bullet. It has nothing to do with the 9mm Makarov cartridge, as the base and rim diameter of the 5.45 X 18 is smaller.

    Rufe-snow thanks for the correction. But I still have the question, what parent case is RCBS reforming into a 5.45x18 case and why if there are no guns here in the US that shoots it?
